the weekend Gore ripped up one script — his 2004 presidential ambitions,
which now Rest In Peace. At the same time he pieced together another script
— one showcasing his long-dormant comedy skills. Gore stole the show
on Saturday Night Live. And we — the political/media world
— ate it up. "As host and player in a whopping 80 percent of the SNL sketches, Gore showed basic command of comedy and comedic acting. Gore’s 'Trent Lott', for instance, was dead-on. He served up the dripping Southern lilt, the rapid syntax, and the smacking lips. After months of wondering 'Will Gore run?' now we’re asking, 'Who knew he could do impressions?'" |
