| "Repeatedly during the last two presidential
campaigns, Al Gore promised to tear up the script and 'let it rip.' Over
the weekend Gore ripped up one script his 2004 presidential ambitions,
which now Rest In Peace. At the same time he pieced together another script
one showcasing his long-dormant comedy skills. Gore stole the show
on Saturday Night Live. And we the political/media world
ate it up. "As host and player in a whopping 80 percent of the SNL sketches, Gore showed basic command of comedy and comedic acting. Gores 'Trent Lott', for instance, was dead-on. He served up the dripping Southern lilt, the rapid syntax, and the smacking lips. After months of wondering 'Will Gore run?' now were asking, 'Who knew he could do impressions?'" |
