My name is Jamie Burress, and I live and work in Bakersfield, California.
I have always been interested in visual arts, and was a tattoo artist
and painter until I discovered stained glass art about three years ago.
Working with glass is much more challenging for me than drawing or painting.
There are all these limitations to ways you can cut the glass, so every
line has to be carefully thought out. In my opinion, the more challenging
something is to accomplish, the more rewarding it is to see the finished
piece sitting in front of you. I have always been a huge supporter of
the gay community, and just recently began designing windows with erotic
and gay themes. Doing this kind of subject matter in stained glass is
so much fun for me because it is something that is rarely seen in this
medium. When people think of stained glass, they picture flowers and
Tiffany lamps, not penises!" |
